Evoke Arts has been set up in association with The Princes Trust to deliver ballet, street dance, contemporary dance and under 5's dance to children in schools throughout London.
We are a community focused organisation, offering professional but affordable dance to children and young people in schools throughout London. By providing all young people with the opportunity for professional dance tuition we aim to break down any barriers set by elite artistic institutes and stereotypes portrayed within popular culture such as in music videos.
Our classes offer dance as an educational tool, promoting a healthy lifestyle and physical and mental wellbeing. We provide children and young people with the opportunity to have fun whilst achieving. The arts are also a non-violent expressive tool that can help young people to stay safe.
One of Evoke Arts guiding principle is continuous access to the arts. We believe that children and young people should have the opportunity to access their chosen art over a period of time receiving effective artistic education to allow them to develop their talents. All too often we have seen the provision of short one-off workshops that introduce children and young people to the arts and then leave them with no way to continue to develop their new-found skills.
Evoke Arts has being awarded The Mayor of London's Youth Opportunities Award for our work with young people. We have also been commissioned by Haringey and Islington councils and currently deliver dance classes to over 200 children in London.
All Evoke Arts tutors have an Enhanced CRB check and are professional working artists. They hold a university degree in their field or have passed their International Dance Teaching exams.
Our staff have worked with and been featured in many mainstream professional company's work such as The Royal Ballet and The London Contemporary Dance School. They have performed in West End musicals, on television and internationally.
